Now most people might choose to think of UT when the subject of sports in Tennessee comes up. Of course, the popular UT Vols Football team might be the topic of the conversation, but another main figure, whom should not be left out, is none other than Pat Summitt herself.

Over the course of her 35 years as the Lady Volunteer Basketball Head coach, she has led the team to more than 1000 victories. That alone is simple astounding and words can not describe how fortunate UT is to have such a great coaching staff along with her. Now, I am not leaving our Bruce Pearl in any way or saying girls are better than boys but the records show that Pat Summitt is the best of the best. She holds the greatest winning percentage (83.9%) than any other coach in the history of college basketball.

UT celebrated its 8^th NCAA National Championship under the leadership of Pat Summitt. The 7^th and 8^th were back to back! Now if that is not impressive, I don't know what else you would need as proof to show Pat's awesome coaching skills. She has definitely made a name for herself and there is no sight of slowing down either.
