You may not know it but the United States Chess Federation is located in beautiful Crossville, TN on the Cumberland Plateau. With over 80,000 members it's the official membership organization for chess players.
The USCF is a not-for-profit which was created to increase the knowledge and enjoyment of chess. Since the USCF represents the United States in International Chess Federations, it's members can compete in sanctioned chess tournaments all 
around the world.
The federation publishes two magazines, Chess Life and Chess Life 4 Kids.
