Great News From Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber 12 At 12 Luncheon/Meeting

Today I attended a lunch meeting at the Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber of Commerce. This meeting is hosted by the chamber monthly and industry leaders from Dyersburg are invited to participate.

After going through the line to fix our plates we sat down and Allen Hester introduced himself and one of his staff, Ellen Carrington. Ellen then played a new video on the screen that the chamber just had produced highlighting the new spec building owned by Dyersburg and Dyer County. The inside as well as the outside was on the video and it was an excellent job of showing the available building to prospective companies relocating to our area.

We began the luncheon by the attendees introducing themselves and the name of their company. One of the companies represented was Hamilton-Ryker. This company was in Dyersburg but downsized in 2009 when the economy got bad. They are now back and they were represented by Melody Caldwell and her assistant . Melody told us their available jobs have really picked up in the last 6 months and they expect them to continue improving. She agreed to provide me with available jobs through their company and I will post those on my Dyersburg blog.

Also at the meeting was Patrick Carolin with Colonial Diversified Polymer Products. He is the vice president of sales and marketing. Patrick told us their business really tanked in 2009 but is showing signs of reviving.

David Doss with The Highlands of Dyersburg(health and rehab services) told us they are just beginning a $1,200,000 remodeling project with the goal also to have more private rooms for their patients.

Curtis Cobert who is the co-owner of the new C&C Pharmacy was also present and he told us the pharmacy business continues to grow(only open 6 months).

I am excited to say that the future of Dyersburg looks bright and the entire Dyersburg area is on the road to recovery.
