What are you doing to be Eco friendly?

There are so many easy ways to be Eco-friendly. They don't have to change your lifestyle, just maybe alter a few steps everyday. The compost bin may be a little harder than some of my other tips, you actually need an area to place the bin that is away from the house and neighbors (especially in the summer)! I do recall growing up, my neighbors on the corner of Chandler and Amherst (isn't that funny the details we remember), had a compost pile in their garden and it smelled so BAD. No one could even walk by their house! Don't do that.

The second tip would be water barrels. Once again, not everyone can do this, but if you can, it's GREAT. It's free water to wash your car, water your garden, just recently we filled our pond outside. Saves a ton on the utility bill.

The last item is just simple! Recycle. That takes an extra 2 seconds to flatten a box, rinse out a bottle and separate. We don't even separate at home, everything goes in 2 bins, one is in the basement and one is on back porch. Once a week I take it to the recycle center and sort it as I pull it out. It's easier for most people, you probably have curb side pick up. recycleRain barrel
