THDA - Tennessee Housing Development Agency has a plan that may help homeowner's.

According to a memorandum sent to All THDA Originating Agents on September 29,2008.

"EFFECTIVE WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2008, THDA WILL IMPLEMENT A NEW MORTGAGE CALLED GREAT SAVE. TO QUALIFY FOR THIS REFINANCE LOAN, THE MORTGAGE LOAN TO BE RE-FINANCED MUST BE AN ADJUSTABLE RATE MORTGAGE (ARM) LOAN MADE AFTER DECEMBER 31, 2001 AND BEFORE JANUARY 1, 2008, THAT, AS DETERMINED BY THDA, WOULD BE REASONABLY LIKELY TO CAUSE A FINANCIAL HARDSHIP TO THE BORROWER IF NOT RE-FINANCED ("QUALIFIED ADJUSTABLE RATE MORTGAGE LOAN"). THIS PROGRAM WILL EXPIRE DECEMBER 31, 2010."

This program will not save all Tennessee homeowners in trouble, but for a great number of people facing problems with their mortgage it may be the program that saves the day.

It will help stabilize the lives of those with outrageous adjustable-rate-mortgages, with a 30 year fixed rate loan, and save them from a foreclosure.

Since I originally posted this blog (less than a week ago), I have had an enormous amount of phone calls and e-mails, after referring them to a lender that specializes in government loans, I have found that many are NOT qualified for various reasons.
