A Few Tips to Jump Start Your Business

A Few Tips to Jump Start Your Business

You may be doing all of these or some of these, but I figured I would refresh your memory just in case you were to busy to implement and they have fallen by the wayside.

Database Marketing - Your database is one of your largest assets, contact should be at least quarterly, if you stay in contact with your database you are more likely to receive referrals from them, otherwise most will only call on your services when they need you. CALL AND MAIL YOUR DATABASE

Business Plan - Your business plan is your road map to success. If you don't have a written business plan what are you going to refer to when business is not what it once was? Your plan should include things such as, your annual goals in volume & commissions, your top referral sources, your expense budget. Once you have all of the information you need on an annual basis, calculate what you need on a monthly or weekly basis to meet your goals. CREATE YOUR BUSINESS PLAN

Plan your week - Plan your week on Sundays. As Professional Sales People we get so caught up doing administrative tasks and things which aren't making us money and take away from what we are supposed to be doing which is prospecting and selling. PLAN YOUR WEEK AND INCLUDE PROSPECTING

Ask for referrals - Ask for referrals at your first appointment as well as at closing. Have you ever heard of the Reticular Activator? Your Reticular Activator is the part of your brain that heightens your awareness of certain things. For instance, if you buy a new Mercedes, all of the sudden you start noticing how many Mercedes are on the road. It works the same with your customers they will start noticing more people looking to buy or sell a house when they are buying or selling a house, why wait to closing to ask for referrals? ASK FOR REFERRALS

Schedule time for you and your family - This may not apply but I am sure it applies to many of us or some of our colleagues. We get so caught up in working that we forget about the more important things in life like ourselves or our family. Take some time to do something you enjoy or spend time with them instead of working non-stop. It is easy to get caught up in work and put everything else on the back burner. SCHEDULE TIME FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY

What is the #1 indisputable secret to success?

According to research by Dudley and Goodson, the only significant predictor of success in sales is... the number of calls initiated with prospective buyers on a consistent basis.
