Global warming has missed us!

It has been snowing off and on for days now. I checked the temperature here on Signal Mountain and it is colder than son's home in WV! On Signal they will close the "W" road when icy and send all the morning traffic down the front of the mountain.

After all it is winter and the snow and ice creates a great landscape.

I am going to get a picture of the "W" road and post it. I grabbed this small bit of info on the road from a sigmtn.com, "This road, which carries traffic up the eastern bluff of Walden's Ridge, is named for the three switchbacks that form the shape of a "W" at the top of the ridge. It was constructed in 1890 to replace the old "corduroy road" used by early settlers and by both armies during the Civil War." Travelling is a treat and believe it or not this road demands a certain etiquitte so traffic wil flow up and down.
