Amarillo Real Estate still Strong!

I’ve mentioned it in the past, and just wanted to let everyone Amarillo is still a GREAT place to buy a home! According to the Texas Association of REALTORS – via PRNewswire press release – Texas’ average home price for the first quarter of 2011 raised 1.3% when compared to the first quarter of 2010. That means that Texas’ as a general is holding prices steady, even with a sales drop of 7.34% between Q1 2011 and Q1 2010. Don’t forget the First Time Home Buyer Credit though last year, which helped 2010’s high sales.

To see select individual markets, check out the report at Texas Quarterly Housing Report, released May 2. Amarillo’s performance between 2010 and 2011 shows that our sales were UP 1.63%, and our average sales prices increased 2.24%. That’s all good news for the Amarillo Market!
