I read a Chris Hallmark's blog today. It was about attracting business to your website. One point he brought up was keeping your blog interesting. As I commented on his point, I thought about how creating a well-rounded blog is like making a mix tape or CD or using the IPOD shuffle. Most of us want variety in our lives. And here is what I strive for in my blogposts.

• INFORM I use market reports to inform the community about the real estate activity in their area.
• EDUCATE I write about latest trends in the real estate field. Or give tips on how to sell or buy real estate. Or explain how an inspection is carried out.
• SELL I put my listings out there. Not only am I selling this house but I am selling Your Texas Connection's marketing techniques.
• SUPPORT Here is where I write about local events and/or businesses. Anything and everything that is going on in the community.
• ENTERTAIN The photos, recipes and humorous stories fit in this category. Because we all need a little brain candy now and then.

Not everybody is going to read everything. However, they might not read anything if the blog is mundane or inconsistent. A balanced blend of topics is what make sense to me. And that is what I want to offer my readers.
