A wonderful tribute to a second grade teacher Sheri Pena at Canyon Creek Elementary who suffers from MS! Team Pena recently completed the MS150 April 18-19th - a bike ride from Houston to Austin!
Team Pena rode in the name of Sheri Pena and were made up of friends and family from the Canyon Creek community and Austin. Ed and Marisa Sladek, Mike and Worden, Tom Wolk and Jeff and Deannea Serrera.
Sheri's name and their story were entered into a MS150 contest. They choose 100 people to team up with a Houston artist to create a sculpture which included bicycle parts and emulated the person. Sheri Pena and Team Pena were chosen and the "bike art" was created.
On display standing over 6 feet tall you can see this fun piece of art in the Canyon Creek Elementary School.
I stopped by to see it today and wow! How fun!! I see the angelic face with golden hair flying in the wind. The wings are soaring on its stick like figure.
See for yourself how Canyon Creek cares!
