Kudos to Canyon Creek Elementary for being selected for the third consecutive year for the 2011 Honor Roll for the Texas Business and Education Coalition (TBEC). There were five other RRISD schools named: Cactus Ranch, Laurel Mountain and Spicewood Elementary Schools, Canyon Vista Middle School and Westwood High School.
Round Rock ISD Superintendant Dr. Jesus H. Chavez said "I am so proud of these campuses for their hard work and consistent efforts to ensure that all of their students meet and exceed state standards."
The list represents less than 4% of all the 8,000 Texas public schools. The 253 schools listed in the Honor Roll have demonstrated three years of consistent, high performance in all subjects compared to other schools serving similar student populations. TBEC Honor Roll schools have the highest percentage of students performing at the state's most rigorous standard ~ commended ~ in every subject. This past year ~ with the lst year of TAKS ~ the standards are the most demanding since the inception of the program.
