Austin Texas Named #3 among "Hottest Places to Get a Job"

austin texas relocation

With the economic uncertainties facing many areas of the country, I feel blessed to be in Austin, Texas these days. Over the past several months, Austin seems to have been on the national radar more and more often. Today, according to a story from ABC News, Austin is #3 for its "Hottest Places to Get a Job" list. The other top five cities, in order, were Salt Lake City, Wichita, Atlanta, and Fort Worth.

According to Jennifer Merritt, the CareerJournal Editor for the Wall Street Journal, Austin is "a vibrant place to live" (I agree), and our town is "good for young people, retirees, and families" (I agree again).

Here is a link to the video for this story.

This year, Austin has made a number of other interesting lists:

Austin Texas Named as Top Place to Buy a House by Entrepreneur Magazine

Austin Texas Named Fastest Growing Large Metro Area in the U.S.

Austin Texas is Named One of the Least Stressful Places in the U.S.

Overall, Austin appears poised for another boom in the upcoming years.

If you are considering relocating to the Austin area, I would love the opportunity to help. Here is a link to my online relocation package if you are interested:

I am known among my peers and past clients as an honest broker/agent. There are certainly others who have sold more homes than I have, but you would be hard-pressed to find an agent with more integrity than me. I would rather talk you out of a home purchase or an offer on your home than to assist you in making a bad decision.

I have been selling real estate full-time in Austin for over 11 years, and I am well-qualified to assist you with any residential real estate needs that you may have. Please feel free to call me anytime at 512-796-7653 (cell) or email me at jason@austintexashomes.com. You will not be disappointed.

Hurray for Austin.

KAY - Hurray indeed!

Jason, That' GREAT!  Austin makes sense to me but I'm still trying to figure out Wichita being number 2 .  Not that Wichita is a bad place it is just not the city I would expect to beat out Austin.

MARCHEL - That one surprised me as well.  Anytime that Austin makes a new list, I am happy to see the exposure!

Jason,

What's left...Home of St. Peter???LOL Thanks,   Fran

FRAN  - Perhaps!  Thanks for stopping by -

Must be nice, Jason.  You've got enough jobs that you could ship some north, right?

KAREN - Sure thing.  I will start working on that tomorrow morning.

Austin is a wonderful city. Its about time it gets the positive exposure it deserves

Austin, TX rocks! I've only been once, but I had such a great time. The food was great, the people were friendly, and we enjoyed such wonderful live music. It sort of reminds me of Raleigh, NC, where I live. There's no shortage of things to do in Austin!

We are fortunate in Texas.  The market has been good to us and our economy is still strong.  I work in Fort Worth, and the last stats I saw showed that we averaged 500 new families moving to Fort Worth every week, and most of those were coming her with jobs in hand. That is always a good thing to see in Real Estate.

Jason- What kind of jobs are people moving there for? Another beautiful photo of Austin.
