Texas The Lone-Star State all 267,339 square miles or 7.4% of the nations total area. I like the wide variety of land from the Piney woods and swamps, to the Hill country, The gulf of Mexico to the Mountains in West Texas and the wide open spaces of the Panhandle. I like the distances you can drive when you just want to go someplace. The open Sky, the Rivers, and the trees and desert. From Amarillo to Lubbock, to Fort Worth and Dallas, then to Austin and San Antonio, fro Houston to El Paso. There's no other place so unique. But most of all I like the people truly friendly folks all 21 million including all the 16 million cattle as well. Be sure and click on the video!

16 million cattle? Wow. I love a good steak. If I ever leave Bend, maybe I'll move to Texas : )
Those are some gorgeous pictures! Nice song, too. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Kelli if your ever in Austin look me up! I'll buy you a big ole juicy Steak!
Sarah, All thanks goes to you!
I would say Ditto!!! I had no idea when we moved here I would love the area so much, the woods, the people etc, etc, etc. Continental Airlines is why we moved here and they are opening Colorado up again but we are entrenched; we love it here.
Marchel, I took you for a native Texan! Where are you from?
Hi Danny: I am originally from Wichita Kansas. We spent 15 years in Colorado, 2 1/2 in North Carolina and the last 10 here in Texas. People in Kansas are very friendly like Texas. It is nice to have friendly people and trees also (LOL).
Well, I have to confess I'm originally from New Mexico. But Texas has been my home for 41 years.
Danny - awesome pictures!!! you certainly live in a very beautiful part of the country which offers variety
Thank you Jennifer! Actually our country as a whole is very lucky to have such beauty within all our states!
Danny - know what my favorite thing about Texas is
Lighting Bugs - I always try and plan my trip around them - one year I went in April and they were not out yet - it was so disappointing.
Thesa Is that why your coming to Dallas this next month?
Danny - I am coming to see my new found family - this will be our 4th reunion - my father, 3 sisters and step mother live in the Dallas area
Thesa, I think that sound so neat!
