Two items in this blog are for your information if you are a Pedernales Electric Coop customer.
This first item is important and we want to make you aware that some folks are not fortunate enough to have air condition that live in our area. Pedernales offers a gift program, much like buying a gift card. If you know someone or even someone in your own family is having a birthday and you don't know what to get them, you may consider a Give-A-Watt gift check.
If you're searching for the perfect gift idea, look no further. PEC's Give-a-watt gift checks are easy to buy and easy to use. You can go to one of the PEC www.pec.coop offices or click on the website for informatin.
Also is some additional information regarding your ability to get account information from Pedernales Electric website. Hope this is helpful. June 23, 2009
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
We need Rain!
PEC debuts MyUse Energy Analyzer conservation tool
At its June 20 Annual Membership Meeting, Pedernales Electric introduced its newest online conservation effort, MyUse Energy Analyzer. The tool will allow PEC members to view their daily electric use in kilowatt-hours and dollars so they can better monitor and manage their monthly electric consumption, budget accordingly and reduce their environmental impact. Members also will be able to subscribe to mid-point notification e-mails detailing their current unbilled kwh use.
"PEC's MyUse Energy Analyzer is an exciting tool," PEC General Manager Juan Garza said. "We encourage members to conserve electricity, and with MyUse, they will have the ability to view their daily use and change costly electric habits. This is just the first in a continuing series of beneficial products we hope to be unveiling in the future."
To ensure the tool would serve its members, PEC conducted focus groups and used member feedback to guide the development of MyUse. "It is important for us to gather member input, and we've utilized members' specific ideas to improve MyUse," said PEC Communications Manager Michael Racis. "We've married emerging technology and member suggestions to create a conservation tool PEC members can benefit from."
The tool will be available online at www.pec.coop for all PEC members to utilize beginning in July 2009. For more information about PEC's MyUse Energy Analyzer, call us toll-free at 1-888-554-4732.

Howdy there Carl and Ceil
I got a hoot out of folks here today, my friends. Every where I went, I heard folks sayen, its so hot today. It only got up to 77 degrees here today. Most of the folks here sure don't know what hot really is.
I sure do like the idea of the Give-a-watt to folks. Theres not a program like that around here.
And that there MyUse Energy Analyzer, sure is a real helpful tool for folks from the sounds of it. PEC sure is doing their best to help and look out for the folks that use them.
Carl and Ceil - the two of you are doing a real fine job of geting this helpful info out to the folks. I'm going to check out PEC's website. And will be keeppen an eye out for more of your helpful posts.
Thank for always taken the time to think about others.
Hello Dale thank you for always stopping and making nice comments. It shows that you read our blogs. When Ceil found about this program we decided to blog on it, it is really good for some folks. Why go out and buy them something they may not need. We also like to give gift cards to H.E.B. Grocery store so that they can buy some things they need. There are allot of old folks living on fixed income that just can not afford air condition; and beleive me this heat is brutal.
Howdy there Carl and Ceil
When every I go in to a blog post, my friends. I always read each and every word of them. And never leave a post with out leaven a comment for the writer or writers. Besides I sure do always enjoy reading each and every one of the fine written, and loaded info posts. Y'all post.
A day with out reading and commenting on a post or two, by my friends Carl and Ceil, is like a day with out sunshine.
I sure do know and understand about brutal heat.
Hey Dale I just finished a blog about the Canyon Lake Golf Course & Club. I am not a golfer but I did an inspection close to that area and I could see folks out playing golf (in the heat) but looked like they were having a good time. Made me think of Frank Bailey and we know he likes to golf.
I think I'll call it a night, the heat really did a job on me today.
Holy Cow! I wish it was only 77 in Texas now! We have had a solid week over 100 degrees, in fact yesterday was 107!
;)
Betina I agree, we would not know how to act. First thing I would do is turn off the air condition. It is way to early in the year to be at or over 100 degrees. It sure can wear you down in a hurry. I carry an extra set of clothes with me and try to change mid-day.
Great info and a good way to save some money and some energy.
Our air conditioning runs non stop lately. We now have the temp set on 77 instead of 74 and leave all the ceiling fans on and the a/c still seems to run most of the time!
Ricki - Anything we can do to help save money on energy cost we need to do so. I know when I put in the solar screens last year it sure did help.
Shirley - We only leave the fans going in the room where we stay. We have two bedrooms upstairs and a dining room and living room we seldom use. We really need to downsize but comfortable where we are. After all these years we would don't have anywhere else we would rather live.
