So much new stuff going on in College Station ! A New council person elected Saturday and now the president of Texas A and M University resigns and R. Bown Loftin assumes the presidency on an interim basis .
On the first meeting with the University Board of Reagents it was revealed that it looks like contained tuition hikes are in the future for students attending the University. Not good news! Additionally the reagents have to figure out how to deal with other shorfalls in revenues facing A and M. In a cost saving effort the University is seeking to combine several functions of the University and the University System.
Looks like the University is faced with many of the same problems the Federal and state governments are faced with also.
As my granddad said " When the outgo exceeds the income the upkeep will be the downfall" or pretty much economics 101.
Have a prosperous week!
