OK, WHO'S A RELIABLE DALLAS PLUMBING COMPANY?

UPDATE: So far nearly 400 people have read this post. Not one has posted a recommendation of a good Dallas plumber. I would think plumbing companies and their plumbers would find this a significant commentary about them and their business reputations.

Friday evening, March 20th, water started running out from under our sink's cabinet and the dishwasher. A quick check led me to believe that the waste water pipe inside the exterior wall had developed a major leak.

Saturday morning I called three Dallas plumbers: Casa View Plumbing, Pope Plumbing and John Rodriguez Plumbing. I got an answering machine at Casa View, an answering service at Pope, and Rodriguez didn't answer his phone. All had done previous work for us.

Pope called back and said the plumber handling the weekend calls had some personal family emergency and would not be able to come until Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning. I said OK, we could wait that long. Please send him.

Later in the morning, Casa View called and said they would charge $200 to come assess the problem unless we were willing to wait until Monday.

John Rodriguez still did not answer his phone.

Pope didn't come Saturday and still had not come by late Sunday afternoon. I was annoyed that we had missed church and had stayed home for both days waiting for a plumber who hadn't shown up.

So about 4 PM Sunday, I cut into the wall, located the leak, cut out the breached pipe, replaced it, dried out the wall, and by 6 PM, all was "good to go." Total cost of parts: About $20.

As of today, March 31, 2009, I've not heard anything more from any of the three, and Pope's plumber has not shown up or called.

So here's my question, and it's a serious one: I want to know what Dallas plumbing companies will come rain or shine, weekends or holidays, show up and charge a reasonable fee.
