While I'm far from being a Bible scholar, for a Gentile, I am pretty darned knowledgeable about Judaism.
While there are at least two schools of thought on the subject, I am a member of the one that believes that the Last Supper was the celebration of the Passover Seder I further feel this is an important bond between Jews and Christians that is often unknown, overlooked or both.
Tonight, Tuesday April 7th at 7:00 PM, the congregation of All Saints Episcopal Church, 1617 Abrams Road in Dallas, will celebrate the Seder as they do every year as part of Lent. The menu includes roasted lamb, haroz, matzo ball soup, bitter herbs, honey glazed carrots and kosher wine.
Bible scholar, Father Ray Ball will preside as participants read responses of the Haggabah, and you will learn the meaning and symbolism of the Seder ritual.
I've been to any number of Seders. It is a powerful religious celebration that all Christians should experience. I assure you that your life will be enriched by attending.
Call the Rev. Dr. Ray Ball for reservations and directions to the church. 214 824-4488 or 214 827-9874. Visitors of all denominations are invited. A $10 donation per person is asked to defray the cost of the meal.
