After last November’s Presidential Election, many voters thought it would be a while before they needed to head back to the polls. That is not the case. Next Saturday, May 9, 2009, is once again voting day here in Dallas County. There are City Council races and important Ballot Measures to weigh-in on. The most visible measures being Propositions 1 & 2 regarding the proposed Convention Center Hotel in Dallas.
I posted about those ballot propositions and why it is crucial to our city’s future that all of us get out to the polls and vote “NO” on these ballot measures. Voting “NO” is a vote IN FAVOR of the new hotel and the critically important business that building it (through a bond issue… NOT taxes, as some of the misleading ads would have people believe) will bring to our city. Check out my blog post on this topic at: VOTE NO on Dallas' Ballot Prop 1: The Convention Center Hotel
Early voting is underway and the election period concludes next Saturday. For more information on where you can go to vote, check out www.dalcoelections.org
Make your voice heard and let your vote count! It’s what America is all about.
