While listening to the radio on my way to the office today, I heard that the locally famous Sigel's Liquor sign that I blogged about a few weeks ago (Saying Goodbye to Another Dallas Landmark!) has found a new home. The Sigel's Liquor owners have gotten permission to relocate the historic sign to their Addison store near Inwood and Belt Line Roads.
Addison has a reputation for strict zoning, but it just goes to prove that when the Town of Addison gets a chance to have a piece of local history, especially one that, in my book, qualifies as pop art, in their community, they know how to make the necessary exceptions to make it happen... quickly!
Here's hoping that this great landmark brings its status to Addison and that it lasts there for another 50 years!
