Urban Dare Dallas - May 1, 2010

Think you know Dallas? What is Urban Dare? It's the race for those that aren't hot on the idea of an actual race for speed - smarts outweigh swiftness and using your brain gets you to the finish! Teams of two take part in a half-day race that includes physical challenges, mental twisters and hunts. And it's coming to Dallas on May 1st!

What to expect in Urban Dare? The use of cell phones for calls or smart phone info retreival is encouraged, as is the use of public transportation to get to various checkpoints. At each checkpoint, you'll be prompted to perform a dare or take a specific photo for race completion. What do those dares consist of? Solve a riddle, pose in a specific position or crawl through a giant tube... who knows! If you don't take a dare, you can opt to take a penalty and continue to the next point, but the goal is to get your "passport" stamped for dare completion as much as possible.

1. "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" Well, they tore it down and brought a piece of it here to DC. Get your picture in front of it.
2. He equals MC2. Get your picture sitting in his lap.
3. He settled a dispute over this moniker in an eight-hour shooting match with William Comstock. You'll need to be a good shot, too. Visit his place and throw a bull's-eye to move on. This dare does not open until 11:30. Plan your course accordingly.
4. Photo hunt - take a picture of people doing see no evil - hear no evil - speak no evil. They must be non-competitors.
