The good news for 2011 is that fewer homeowners in Dallas

Tx are upside down on their mortgage. CoreLogic Inc. recently reported that at the end of September, 13.9% of Dallas homeowners owed more than their home is worth. This is definitely good news compared to the 2009 peak of upside down homeowners in Dallas that hovered around 30%.

The reason for the decline is that more homeowners are paying down their mortgages as well as the high number of foreclosures in the Dallas area that have helped considerably.

The Dallas area is one of the better areas compared to other cities and states that have seen upwards of 66% of their homeowners upside down on their mortgages.
