Currently, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, there are approximately 41,706 homes on the market. In the first quarter of 2010, there were approximately 58,300 homes listed for sale in DFW. Many people wait until the first of the year to list their home for sale. However, in doing this, your competition will be higher. Sellers need to make sure their home will be able to stand out and shine.

Use some downtime during the holidays to clean up, clean out, fix up, and hire out! Add money to your bottom line by:
Updating landscaping for curb appeal
Repainting or staining the front door
Trimming the trees and shrubs
Repainting shutters if needed
Buffing and polishing floors or cleaning and starching carpets
Boxing up and storing unused furniture, knick-knacks, etc.
Hiring a painter to touch up or paint as needed
Painting baseboards
Cleaning out bathrooms and closet spaces
Adding new rugs and towels to bathrooms
Replacing old or discolored drawer knobs, faucets, etc.
Cleaning ceiling fans and lights
Polishing wood cabinets
When you think you're done, walk through the house again and look at it from a buyer's perspective. Then give me a call to have a look. I can give you more tips on how to better stage your home to sell!
