Step back in time and experience a day in the life of this Texas pioneer family. One of three families to first settle the wilderness that is now Dripping Springs, Dr. Joseph and Sarah Pound built a log cabin on this site in the 1850's. Some of the highlights are this old covered wagon, a rock smokehouse, a turning windmill, and a "hot frame," an underground greenhouse that stored plants and herbs through the winter.
Dr. Joseph Pound was the first Doctor in this part of the Texas Hill Country. Descendants of the Pounds actually lived at this site until 1983.
Today, the farmstead is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark and is included in the National Register of Historic Places. Furniture and heirlooms were donated by the Descendant's of the Pounds to bring the home to life for everyone to enjoy.
