There is a basic tenet with all selling that says make it "easy" for the buyer to buy. Corporate online web site developers even optimize their eCommerce web sites so they are fast. We buyers are an impatient bunch it seems. So too with property.

Appointment only's, other agent won't let you in, sellers won't let you in, no combo code information readily available, many things can derail accessibility.
But sellers have to know in 99% of the cases the buyer is going to have to walk through that front door or unlock the pad lock on that cattle gate to see the property. For those agents and those sellers who make things so difficult with their "Sorry we're closed sign", well there's always another property to buy right down the road. It just won't be theirs. And then they are dumbfounded why it is taking so long to sell...
