Prickly Advice For The New Year

I'm not one to really help people come up with New Year's resolutions but I do have an incredible ease in my own life with using the liberal use of the word NO. Ask anyone who asks me to join anything. It is darn tough with this Blogger/REALTOR.

But a sage bit of advice to get you going in the new year thinking of using that NO word and building Win Win in business and in our personal lives is the thought:

Don't hug a cactus, the more you hug, the more it hurts.

In other words give and give to causes, work, and other people, but check if you are getting something on the receiving end or else cut it out. Hug something soft like a puppy who will lick your face instead. With our loved ones in particular hugging while it hurts is SACRIFICIAL but remember your own needs and if you are hurting make sure they are WORTH IT. Maybe the needles will eventually fall off.
