Sooner or Later... Every Girl Needs An ECO

A few days ago... I wrote a post about the upcoming Clinique Bonus Event, which starts on Monday, September 6th here in Fort Worth, and about the wonderful "much-more-than-customer-service" my friend Jennifer at the Clinique Counter brings to me.

During that post, I mentioned in passing... sometime I call my "ECO." It's a "girl thing"... so guys, if you want to turn the page right now... go ahead. I won't feel slighted, here.

Sheltons Salon and Spa

I have been trying to grow my hair out. I want it longer. I just like the feel of it when it hits my shoulders... as it finally does. Whew !

Anyway... just as an additional treat, I have what us older girls call a "standing" appointment at my hair salon. Well, actually, I sit when I am there. Why they call it a "standing..." I am not sure.

Regardless... my "standing" appointments are on Tuesdays and Saturdays... both at 11:30am. I get my hair shampooed. Both my Stylist Carol, and my fave shampoo chick, her name is Karen... give an absolutely incredible shampoo. Even a tad of a neck massage, too. Then... a dab of conditioner on Saturdays, and a bit of a "leave-in" on Tuesdays.

Yeah... it may sound excessive... twice a week... I know that. BUT... it is my THERAPY.

For less than a THIRD of the cost of a weekly therapy session with a counselor, I get TWO full sessions... and I really do consider them "therapy" sessions... with Carol... my "Senior Designer" stylist at Sheltons Salon and Spa... in southwest Fort Worth.

But... here is where that ECO comes in. Every once in a while... when I get up in the morning... upon seeing my hair in the mirror... it can actually look like I slept as if I were sleeping upside down... balanced on my head... and spinning around ON my hair... totally screwing up my "do."

When that happens... that's when my saving grace is my ECO. It stands for "Emergency Comb Out."

I give Sheltons a frantic call. ECO Alert, ECO Alert. They are so kind. They do their best to "work me in." It only takes fifteen minutes to re-do and fix the unsightly damage my "spinning on my head" all night long has done. But, whew ! Once I am done, I am SO glad I can squeeze in my ECO... my Emergency Comb Out. (Whew x 2)
