FREE LIVE MUSIC every Friday evening in June. Yet another reason to love living in Frisco, TX.
The second annual Frisco Grooves concert series will hit the stage in June at Warren Sports Complex, 7599 Eldorado Parkway. Each Friday night in June at 7:30 p.m., a leading Texas artist will provide a live concert.
FRISCO GROOVES is produced by American Bank of Texas and made possible in part with sponsor Baylor Medical Center at Frisco, Embassy Suites Frisco, the Frisco Parks and Recreation Department, and the City of Frisco.
Beatlegras, a collection of three very different musicians creating a new sound from the music of the Beatles, starts the series off June 1. Beatlegras infuses bluegrass and jazz, topped off with a classical twist.
Jon Dee Graham, Musician of the Year at the Austin Music Awards at 2006 South by Southwest will come to town June 8. Graham has been described as "unvarnished, raw and gritty."
Thomas Braxton, one of the nation's hottest contemporary jazz artists who blends elements of jazz, Latin, funk, and rhythm and blues in his original compositions, will perform June 15.
Guy Forsyth will bring his brand of American music to the series June 22, which features all styles including blues, jazz, reggae, funk and folk.
On June 29, The Resentments will close the series out with their "fun rave-ups, pointed commentary and assured best jam session of four outstanding artists."
All events are free & open to the public.
Wagons, Lawn Chairs and Picnics Welcome. Bare feet, dancing as well as kids rolling around in the grass are encouraged. Concessions and CD sales will be available on site. Parking is available throughout the park and overflow parking is across the street at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
