Jason isn't joshing us. Beach residential rentals have always made good sense in Galveston. I know several people who live in their beach homes in the fall and move into their in-town homes in May. The rent they get during the tourist season on their beach homes pays the entire cost of the mortgage, taxes, insurance, upkeep and the leasing agent's fees.
It's an interesting way to build equity. And like Jason, most of the agents working Galveston's West End know that market well.
