Like many cities throughout North Texas, the City of Irving provides down payment, closing cost, repair and interest rate discount assistance to eligible applicants of their Irving Homebuyer Assistance initiative, through the Irving Housing Finance Corp.
Qualifying owner occupants can receive up to $15,000 in a deferred forgivable loan (with lien) for a period of 5, 10 or 15 years.
Homebuyer Assistance Eligibility and Requirements: A homebuyer education class is mandatory and provided by the City of Irving. There are income caps that vary depending on the size of your family. While you do not have to be a first time buyer, you cannot have owned a home in the last three years. The sales price of the single family or IHFC newly constructed home must not exceed $271,050. Mobile homes, condos, duplexes or any multiplex and pre-sold newly constructed homes aren’t eligible.
