What buyers are looking for in a Katy Texas home today.

Homes in Katy, Texas are still selling well but I have noticed a dramatic shift in what buyers are looking for and how they are behaving when buying. Today's buyers are looking for newer and older updated homes and are willing to pay much more for the newer and updated homes than for a home lacking updates. They are often passing the outdated homes altogether regardless of the price.

From what I am experiencing, buyers do not want to spend any out of pocket money on a home after the purchase plus the new home equity loan guidelines make it very difficult to borrow money for updates. This could cause prices for home that are not updated to fall dramatically. In fact, homes in that category are already experiencing a tough time selling. An interesting fact, homeowners are getting most of the update investment, all of it plus some in some cases, back in the sale price which used not to happen.
