McDade is a quaint town that was founded by the Mundines back in the mid 1800's in Bastrop County Texas. Now it has a elementary school, fire station, post office, and general store on Main Street. The closest town is Elgin about 5 minutes away. Austin is about 30-40 minutes west on Hwy 290.
