Congratulations to McKinney, TX for making the list again this year. Somebody at CNNMoney really likes the old McKinney Town Square historic area and the price of a 5-bedroom home in McKinney when compared to other parts of the country.
McKinney is a best-buy in 2010 from a local perspective, as well. We've got some gorgeous home listings that are price reduced and ready to be purchased by some lucky buyers this Summer. There are plenty of available homes in all price ranges in McKinney, Texas - from under $100,000 to well over $4 million. There are master-planned communities like Stonebridge Ranch and Craig Ranch (that have very nice amenities and nice HOA fees to go along with them), and there are starter-home subdivisions with no amenities and the absence of HOA's for those who aren't fans. McKinney, TX has something for everybody!
One dig that CNNMoney took at McKinney was for 'traffic problems'. Yes, when driving from McKinney to downtown Dallas, that is admittedly not a fun commute. McKinney is a good stretch away from downtown Dallas. But, those aren't typically the people we are selling to in McKinney. Our buyers in McKinney, Texas are typically corporate types who work in the North Dallas suburbs, for companies like Raytheon, JCPenney, Frito-Lay, Sherwin-Williams, Texas Instruments, Crossmark, Dr. Pepper, and other corporations we are fortunate enough to have based in our area. They also work in the schools, hospitals, police departments, and fire stations within our communities. These folks are buying, in general, within 30 minutes commute-time of where they work.
The traffic problems we're having right now are called PROGRESS by some of us. Our roads are being widened to accommodate our fast-growing population. No, those funds haven't dried up. We can see the work being done along Custer Road, I-75, and on the Hwy 121 Toll road. Progress is all around us. Commercial growth is all around us. And, we're getting ready for your arrival.
