With just over one week left until Halloween, chances are you're online searching for fun, spooky and unique events happening around town. McKinney, Texas never disappoints when it comes to lots of family friendly activities!

Here are a few of the events posted on the McKinney Convention & Visitors Website:

Halloween at the Heard

10/22/2010 through 10/23/2010 Time: 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Costume contest, trick-or-treating on the Dinosaurs Live nature trails, outdoor movie (Monsters Inc.), and free mini-flashlights and trick-or-treat bags. By reservations only and because this event sells out fast each year, they added a second day. Details and schedule at event website - www.HeardMuseum.org.
Family Fall Festival

10/23/2010 Time: 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Live music, pony rides, petting zoo, train rides & more! Outdoor movie at 7pm.
Ghost Walk

10/23/2010 Time: 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM
The Legends of McKinney Ghost Walk shares the history of McKinney through the spirits of yesterday! Learn about McKinney`s history through the storytellers who share both the written history and the legends shared through the ages. Visit the haunted sites and hear the stories. Take time out to visit downtown restaurants and shops. Hear what TEXPART has to say about the haunted sites.

Ghouls on the Lawn

The 3rd Annual Ghouls on the Lawn, presented by the McKinney Performing Arts Center and hosted at Tucker Hill, is an interactive Halloween event like no other! It is free and open to children and adults of all ages, and features the following fun activities:

·Trick-or-treat if you please. •Dare to enter the haunted graveyard. •Toast marshmallows while listening to ghost stories. •Stroll through the Boo-tanical Gardens. •Decorate a pumpkin. •Prepare to believe in magic. •Invade the movie set of legendary monsters. •Hop on the hayride. •Do the Monster Mash. •Find your way through an inflatable maze. •AND...keep your eyes peeled for zombies performing "Thriller" every hour on the hour!

Tucker Hill is located in McKinney on the north side of 380, just 4 miles west of 75 and 6 miles east of the Tollway.

Last, but not least...don't forget Scare on the Square! Come down to the Historic Downtown Square on Friday, October 29 from 4 to 6:00 as local businesses (yours truly) hands out treats to the thousands of costumed visitors! This event keeps getting bigger and bigger each year...come and say HI!
