Excerpts taken from a letter to the editor in the Ellis County Observer:

  • Jamie Wickliffe was on the Midlothian City Council for 12 years 1990 - 2002. Why does she want back on council Now? Is the real estate market in such bad shape? Does she need inside information to boost her income?
  • We know why some realtors join clubs and organizations; it's called "NET WORKING." I not saying it's a bad thing. It's something people do to protect their own best interest above all others.
  • Why get on City Boards and Commissions? The answer is for inside information.
  • With all the real estate deals under investigation do we really want another realtor on the city council? We already have Bill Houston with GMAC Real Estate isn't that plenty?
  • I know two councilmen that spend 20-30 hours per week researching information so they can make the best decisions they can, given the information they receive from staff. I believe Jamie Wickliffe has enough on her business plate. When will she find the time to give the required attention needed for council business?
We know that REALTORS® are driven to support their communities for the right reasons... to protect private property rights and help better homeownership and the quality of life in these communities.
