Murphy TX Goes to Stage 3 Water Restrictions

Stage 3 Water Restrictions will be implemented for all consumers of the North Texas Municipal Water District. The new restrictions will take effect on November 1st allowing only two watering days during each month, November 1 through March 31. The restrictions apply for watering with sprinklers or other irrigation systems. The city is encouraging home owners to place their irrigation systems in the OFF mode using only the manual mode on their assigned watering days. There will not be any warnings issued for violators; citations may be punishable by significant fines for each violation.

The City of Murphy has been divided into three zones. Anyone living south of FM544 are in Zone 3. Residents living north of FM544 and east of Murphy Rd are in Zone 2. Residents living north of FM544 and west of Murphy Rd are in Zone 1. The city has mailed documentation highlighting the various days your particular zone is allowed to water within each month of the restriction.
