A Field Trip! Navasota, Texas

I announced to my assistant that we are going to do monthly field trips! Little visits to neighboring communities that have listings in our MLS. Here is the first of many.

Navasota, Texas was born on the heels of a stagecoach stop here in the wilderness we call Texas. Stores popped up and trade was king in those days! Later three railroads chose to run through this town, making it another important stop in the mid Texas region. Today this area thrives because of industry. Many manufacturing plants have come to roost here. Along with that we have many retirees making this home because of the low tax base and the beautiful homes!

Navasota is in Grimes County and has more turn of the century housing than most places. Beautiful antibellum mansions spring from the earth on many streets. Old carriage houses can still be seen behind them.
