It's The American Way! by Carl and Ceil Winters

It's the American Way! Look up there may be a rainbow in the distance, stay the course, speak up and stand up for what is right. Agree to Disagree but "always" shake hands at the end of the day and look forward to the following day. Each day offers new opportunities.

For sure you will have to face the consequences in every phase of your life. Sometimes you think this is too hard, too difficult, not what I thought it would be, too this, too that. Is it a pattern when things get rough? Life is not easy, and definitely a different set of challenges for each person and family.

We have seen some friends and family almost give up. That's not the American way my friends. Americans stand up, speak up and fight for what you think is right. We have been through some difficult times in our country the last few years. This is "not" the first time this has happened, this has gone on for many years.

*We need and don't need allot of what we think we need and want. Does that make sense?

* It's time to step back, take a breath and evaluate where you are in your stage of life. Ceil and I have different needs today then what we had twenty years ago. Our home and automobiles are paid for, thank goodness. Then on the other hand our son came by the other day and was sharing some visions for the present and in the future. When he left we smiled and remembered back when we were in that same place when we were forty. We listened and did not give advice; we never do unless we are asked. Lesson learned.

I recently made a comment to someone, Dale Baker; maybe I should go back and live in the Dark Age. Ceil asked me why I said that and I commented to her because things seemed simple. I was mistaken, things are simple, we just make it hard at times. Probably the hardest thing we will ever have to do in life is "make the right decisio."

Now I am going to give some advice to some folks I may not even know. For now stay the course, don't give up and see some of these obstacles through to the end. Every day is a new challenge and we like a challenge, after all it's the American Way. I really don't want to go back to the Dark Age we've worked too hard and too long to get to where we are today

*The American Dream is to have a nice home and that will never change.

*The American Dream is to provide a good education for our family and that will never change.

*The American Dream is to drive a vehicle that won't break down, look good, new and shiny and that will never change.

*We want to live in a secure and safe country and that will never change if we stand up for what is right.

Make sure you don't get off course, stay straight and narrow. I think we are beginning to see a light at the end of the tunnel and let's pray for those who have gone off course.
