The Undecider ? Our President?

I have never been one to fancy myself a self-styled political commentator. However, I read an article that said President Obama runs the risk of being called an undecider. I am not exactly sure what that means, but I definitely prefer his leadership to his predecessor. The business of running this country is a complicated one, fraught with pitfalls and obstacles that would make the average person pull his hair out. I submit to you that the individual we have so carefully elected is way above average. The person who gets to sit in the big chair should possess exceptional ability. I believe that the President is that person.

More importantly, the person who controls the reins of this country should have critical thinking skills. Critical thinking is something, in my humble opinion, that can't be taught. This skill is honed through intensive study, scholarship and a common-sensical approach to life. Obama's position as a student, lawyer, community activist , Senator and President was earned, not given to him. You don't come from humble beginnings and get into Harvard because you know someone. Entrance into Harvard, in most instances, is gained by hard work and good grades. Getting good grades is not a straight forward process. Mastery of a high school curriculum can be both an arduous and complex exercise. More importantly, coming up with the right answers and getting good grades is oftentimes a self-correcting process. In other words, from time to time you have to change your mind.

Before we run off and point the dirty end of the shoe at our President, remember he inherited this mess. There is nothing that came from the last administration that was good. Imagine you have room full of brand new toys. Now imagine five of your friends coming over and breaking every single toy, including the indestructible Tonka truck. I know what you are thinking. I'm thinking it also. It is going to take more than a few gallons of glue to fix this mess.
