Move Over RE/MAX. We Found a Better Way

So, I was a dedicated RE/MAX agent for 25 years and finally saw a different light. When RE/MAX started charging a Broker Service Fee, up to an additional $12,500 annually for me (and for what?), I started looking elsewhere. I interviewed several companies and really liked one company in particular but could not bring my self to make the change from my then favorite brand.

Then what happened? My entire office, RE/MAX Fry Road started feeling the same way. Our broker/owner consulted with all the agents in the office and we came to a consensus. If we are going to pay a service fee anyway, why not join a company that offers to pay back their agents in some sort of way while providing, in my opinion, more support and benefits to their agents and clients?

We took the plunge. As of April 11th, 2010, the top selling RE/MAX office in Texas, RE/MAX Fry Road, changed brands to Keller Williams Signature Realty. KW offers agents so many tools it makes my head spin. Not only that, they actually provide instruction and offer private training on how to use what they offer.

RE/MAX is a great company but Keller Williams has a cohesiveness I never felt with RE/MAX. Now I am not new to the business but I always feel like I can learn something new and KW has mastermind groups and coaching for rookies all the way up to the top producers, not to mention the (culture) of upbeat people who are at your disposal.

I am looking forward to ending my career in the next 15 years with the possibility of residual income from my efforts, something that RE/MAX does not offer, not to mention the possible profit sharing along the way. Will it happen for sure? No, but it definitely won't happen with RE/MAX with their current structure.

I am excited about the new venture.
