Morning dew highlights a sparkling web on a rosemary bush

Spiderweb on rosemary bush, Cibolo, Texas

Because we are organic gardeners, we rely on predators instead of chemicals to keep voracious insects from gnawing our flowering plants and vegetables. Spiders fit the bill. Although the larger wolf spiders still tend to scare me, this web is the mark of a much smaller spider. In fact, I didn't even see the web's creator when I found it strung between two branches of one of our rosemary bushes. That's okay. I don't need to see the spider to know it's doing its job.
