So, you have a client with an old house, unfortunately updated in the 1970s, with a lot of original details missing.
You've seen those, right?
Maybe they want to sell it but want to update, first, or maybe they just bought it and want to bring it back to it's original glory.
Either way, sometimes a trip to a local salvage yard, like Austin's Backyard Salvage and Garden can net your client something you might otherwise be paying top dollar for to buy a reproduction, or authentically restored original.
We visited that local salvage yard last weekend and saw two doors almost identical to this one on this house in East Austin.
The one in the photo below might need some fixin' up, but it's still a fantastic door, full of character and charm. The rest of the exterior of the house had been updated, so maybe the door was last on the list, or maybe the owners kept it like that as a reminder of the condition they saved the house from. Who knows?
