Believe it or not, that's me in the photo. If you know me well, you know that I love being as unconventional & as non-mainstream as one can possibly be. Before getting married I was able to run about 3-5 miles a day with relative ease, ppathetically I suffered two very nasty shin splints; which pretty much killed my jogging routine that I had for more than10 years.
There's something immensely satisfying about flipping a 300lb tire in your backyard. Today was my first go at it and I managed to flip this bastard 101 times before throwing myself in the pool. 300lbs may sound heavy, but it really isn't. Most people that exercise or "flip tires" usually do so with about 500lbs. 100 + reps certainly isn't the norm though. I'm chasing stamina, cardio and a healthy channel to relieve stress.

Check out this link of a girl flipping a 500 lb tire 10 times.
Here's a guy flipping a 1,150 pound tire once!
Tire flipping works out virtually every single muscle group. Chuckle if you want, but me straining here was flip 90 something. I think longer workouts with less (backbreaking) weight are probably better for me. If you're thinking of tire flipping make sure you wash the tire, use proper form and find a tire that is suitable for your goals. When I finally found the one above it had a gigantic rusty rim on the inside that took 3 guys and a enormous sledgehammer to get out. And believe it or not, these tires aren't as easy to find as you would think!
Any suggestions for tire flipping music?
