I am who I say I am! BLUE HOST!

This morning I decided to try and do something simple. I needed to transfer my web hosting from Blue Host to my current web developer, Intuit. In order to do that I needed Blue Host to "release and unlock my url." The problem was that I handn't logged into my Blue Host account in more than 5 years and could'nt remember the user name or password. To make matters worse, the original email account that I subscribed with was no longer active.

After calling customer service I was told that I would need to scan in a color copy of my drivers license & supply my bank account statement from 2009. My bank charged me $5.00 to fax me the statement. After doing all of this I was still rejected. Blue Host said my bank account said NINO CONSULTING instead of Greg Nino on the top of each individual page.

grrrr

3 hours later I was able to finally prove that I was in fact GREG NINO. I had to sign an affidavit, answer questions and have it notarized that I was in fact GREG NINO. I should add that I was told it could take up to 24 hours for the legal dep't to review my documents.

Lesson of the day?

Always write down your user names and passwords, especially if you plan on killing an email account. Companies will want to email you a password reset link to your original email account!
