As a Realtor I make my business to read the marketing materials of other agents and I'm always amused when I read agents advertising that they are number 1 in the company or the neighborhood or the city or blah, blah, blah. Do Realtors really think clients care?
Clients don't care that you're number one. They want to know that they will be number one. Will you answer the phone? Will you be available after they list the house? Will you provide feedback? Will you do your job?
I have always found that if I take care of my clients, my clients will take care of me. By and far the majority of my business is repeat and referral. I treat each client as if they were my only client. By going above and beyond the average agent, my clients reward me with the gift of referrals and repeat business.
At each step of the process, from staging the house for listing to signing the papers at the title company, I'm at my clients side with my sleeves rolled up. I have even gotten down and dirty and planted nearly a hundred four inch pots of color in the front yard in the name of getting the job done.
It will never be my goal to be the number one Realtor for anything, except customer service. After all, if you build a better mouse trap....
