Texas Veterans Land Loan Program

Until recently, Texas Veterans could only purchase at least an acre of land up to $60,000 and have it financed by the Texas Veterans Land Board. The amount increased to $80,000 on December 1, 2007.

Texas veterans will have to make a 5% down payment at closing and pay $75 Contract service fee and $250 for appraisal up front.

When my husband and I took advantage of this program a few years ago, the process took about 90 days. I think the whole process can take as little as 60 days now that the process has been streamlined.

My best advice to Texas Veterans who are interested in taking advantage in this program is to buy now because "The aren't making any more land!".
