Have you ever wanted to own real estate?

This is the first time in 2 decades that the prices of homes are below the nation income average. Which means homes are more affordable now than they have been within the last 20 years. My questions are, have you ever wanted to own real estate? Why not purchase now? I would like to hear your reasons you choose not to buy when the governement is willing to give new home buyers up to $8,000 back on your tax reuturn, homes are more affordable now and lenders have the money to lend.
