If you drive on Bulverde Road north of 1604, you have probably noticed the beginning of a 4 phase construction process that will widen the road and improve driving conditions. Here is a synopsis of the phases:
Phase 1 - Widen the section from Evans Road north past the Stone Oak Parkway intersection to Marshall Road. It will have 2 lanes in each direction as well as a center lane. Along this stretch, you have several residential communities (including Fossil Creek & Cibolo Canyons), a newly built upscale apartment complex (The Mansions at TPC), and the entrances to Lady Bird Johnson Highschool (scheduled to open in August 2008) and the TPC Golf Courses & JW Marriott Hotel (Scheduled to Open in 2010).
Phase 2 - Widen a 1.5 mile section from Marshall Road north to Highway 281. Along this stretch you will find many residential communities (Including Bulverde Village, Indian Springs, & Belterra).
Phase 3 - Widen the 3.8 section from 1604 north to the intersection at Evans Road. This section will affect area businesses (such as Harcourt, Cool Beans Coffee & VJ's Pizza) as well residential communities (including Bulverde Gardens, Roseheart & Bulverde Creek) and Bulverde Creek Elementary Shcool.
Phase 4 - Expand the Bulverde / Evans intersection 500 feet in each direction on Bulverde Road. Evans, East of the intersection, will consist of 4 lanes and a center turning lane. Evans, West on the intersection as well as Bulverde North & South of the intersection, will be 4 lanes with a center median.
