Tealbriar In The Woodlands

Tealbriar Neighborhood In The Woodlands

The five homes built by Insignia in Tealbriar are replicas of historic Texas homes.

Home size ranges from 6400 to 7000 square feet built on lots ranging from 37000 to 54,000 square feet. All are $1 million + homes. This one-of-a-kind neighborhood is located in The Woodlands Village of Indian Springs.

One of the homes currently listed for sale by our team is a replica of the Sterling Robertson Residence.

The Original Home
Built between 1856 and 1860, the historic home was located in Bell County near Salado. The design is a rare example of an antebellum Texas plantation complex. Built in the classic Revival style, the Sterling residence showed Palladian influence in its recessed porches and gallery room, which form terminal pavilions balancing a central gabled portico. In 1967, the home became a Texas historic landmark and appeared in the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The Man
Sterling Robertson Clark
Sterling first visited Texas in 1825. He returned in 1830 and was one of the earliest settlers to the area, as well as being responsible for settling more than 600 families in Texas as Empresario of Robertson Colony. He was also Captain of the Texas Rangers from 1834 - 1835 plus one of the signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence. After retiring, he became the earliest known breeder of Arabian horse in Texas.
