Bad press, including major mockery of the plan by comedian Jon Stewart, led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require veterans carry private health insurance to cover the estimated $540 million annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries to military personnel received during their tours on active duty.
The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal.
"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained..
"Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute..."
"I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country," Obama continued. "I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."
I guess this means they can sue for workmans comp!

No freaking way I just read that!!! (Mind you, Obama isn't as smart as your think without his scripts and media coverups ie. his 57 state comment in his campaign that was covered up beautifully)
So lets look at the big picture. The criminals who run the world finance both sides of every conflict you are aware of for past 100 years. Sacrifice 100's millions of people in the process.
These same criminals (Rockefeller and company) own the Fed and intentially run the ruin economy and enslave the citizens.
Now, we have President, who is nothing more then a puppet for the real power, say that those people only "volunteered" to serve their country for war and now they should sacrifice again for the good of the country. Insanity!! Rockefeller and company cannot be human.

perhaps you should do even the most rudimentary research before you go on another screed. All of the comments are fabricated, completely and utterly. That you would actually take these lines, offered as a public statement, illustrates a lack of skepticism. At best, this chain email you've passed off at news could have passed these comments off as statements said in private that were accidentally leaked.
And if you actually take the time to read the fact check article (or, if you don't believe it, you could read the SOURCES that it actually LISTS) you'd see it was meant to ask insurers, who the soldiers are _already_ paying, to do their part and ACTUALLY fulfill what they get that check every month for (shocking, i know). No veteran was meant to recieve additional out of pocket expenses, and the uninsured would be covered just the same. The net result would have been a 540 million savings to taxpayers, courtesy of the insurance companies actually doing what they're paid to do. Now, go ahead and bitch about liberal tax and spend.
