Memorial Day.............

As we near the weekend, I wanted to take time to ponder and remember why it is that we have this Holiday Weekend. Memorial Day was orginally set up to honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for us, those that gave their lives in combat.

I want to add my voice and my heartfelt thanks and gratitude for those heroes that died so that we may enjoy the freedoms and way of life that we enjoy. They didn't worry about politics or ideologies beyond the fact that their country asked a sacrifice of them, and they gave it! Thank you, and each of your families!!!

Memorial Day evolved then into a day where we honored our beloved dead. Those family and friends that meant something to us. To them again I say thank you, for being there for me. Thank you for all that you gave and taught me.

While you're out enjoying yourselves this weekend, take a minute to say thanks!

We should all give thanks to those that have given their lives to make ours better.  I for one am very appreciative to all and may God bless the families they have left behind.

Hello Tony and Darcy: While enjoying time with friends and family this holiday weekend, we should definitely take time to remember our loved ones who are no longer with us as well as, those who gave their lives protecting the freedoms that we all enjoy as Americans.

EmoticonsWhen growing up in West Virginia, we always spent our Memorial Day visiting and placing flowers at the grave sites of our loved ones who had passed.  Unfortunately, I live too far away to do that now...but my heart still remembers.

BTW, thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog post.

Tony and Darcy thank you for your great comments... I hope you had a lovely memorial day.
